Vosne Romanée Les Chaumes, Domaine Arnoux / Arnoux-Lachaux 2017

Tasting Notes

They are in the middle of Les Chaumes with rows running from top to bottom. Excellent density. His fine style works beautifully, but he has managed to extract something more here. A beautiful expression of Chaumes, with a fine, alpine strawberry aftertaste.

Once again, there is plenty of floral influence to the generously spiced red berry fruit aromas that are laced with violet and lavender nuances. The medium-bodied flavors are rich to the point of opulence while flashing a highly seductive mouthfeel before culminating in a firm and dusty finish. This needs to develop better depth to fully merit my projected range but the underlying material appears to be up to the task. 2027+

This comes from a substantial 0.74ha parcel on relatively rich soils. The nose is juicy but stylish, with elegant raspberry aromas that are sweet and beguiling. Succulent and concentrated on the palate, it also has underlying tannins balanced against bright acidity. The finish is taut, with a display of delicious fruit and fine length. 2020-2035.
